Nougat 22

Hi

You ever have a week that just wouldn’t end, and when you pause to assess it you realize that it was only part of a very long day? And in that day you find yourself so drained, focusing on the tasks before you is next to impossible? I’ve been through several of those; even during the pandemic, when folks claimed life moved slower.

If you face another such day, I invite you to consider today’s Holy Nougat

“Let all that I am praise the Lord; may I never forget the good things he does for me.” Psalms 103:2 NLT

Sometimes, the reason we can’t focus on the tasks before us is we’ve lost our focus on God . And without the intervention of God’s Spirit on our circumstances and stress; panic becomes our priority. In fact, I’ve even typed erroneously; for while stress may be targeted at us; it should not be claimed as ours.

Nope not at all

Our reflection today is about our response to our spirits’ invitation to bless God during our situation. (And I guess it kinda flows from yesterday’s call to maintain relationship regardless.) The psalmist tells himself to count the blessings! Not in so many words; but that’s what never forgetting is about.

If we can remember all God has taken us through, all God has gifted us with; then there are two effects that will be worth our while – 1) we may find we start a prais-volution . One praise for what God has done might lead to many; and pretty soon we also 2) lose focus from the negative as our vision is restored. We might even have the bonus benefit of 3) finding solutions and resources to overcome our present situation!

So, come bless the Lord oh saints of God as we take the praise break from life’s Stuff. Please feel free to add an item or two to the playlist
