Hi

Have you been toying with the idea of praying for others? If so, here’s today’s Holy Nougat™️

“I can assure you that he prays hard for you and also for the believers in Laodicea and Hierapolis.” Colossians‬ ‭4:13‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Wouldn’t it be awesome to be known for our diligence as intercessors? Just imagine, we are known for our sweet communion with the Lord; and not for ourselves, but for others. I admit, I am nowhere as diligent as I used to be; and am working on it. Nevertheless a life of prayer is worthwhile living.

Many of us are keen on other ministries, as well we can. The role of an intercession, though scarcely noticed, is critical to the success of any ministry. For, if God is not at central to any ministry, it is a service club or a performance; having the wrong kind of soul.

Furthermore, in the Gospels, Jesus taught on prayer with some regularity; and his lifestyle shows the need for extending prayer beyond our own needs. For, He prayed – fasted actually – prior to beginning His ministry, selecting the disciples and facing the Cross. He was caught praying by the disciples, who noticed something different about His approach to God. And on the Cross, one declaration revealed Jesus’ intimacy with God; and THREE were passionate prayers, for Himself and us.

Prayer is crucial for the strength of the believer.

We pray for others out of our compassion, born of the recognition that we thrive in community, and not as well on our own. Today, we recognize that the intercessor (aka prayer warrior) was earnest in his prayers for other Christians. His main focus seemed to be the house churches in Colossi, Laodicia and Hierapolis. Perhaps they were hot spots of some kind, or new church starts. We have many of both all around the world. Are we covering them in our prayers? Seriously covering.

There are spaces and people in our own families, churches, communities, countries and/or regions parched for want of spiritual impact. There are conflict zones where lives are snuffed daily and anarchy reigns. There are diseases and killer viruses that are decimating populations.

It is time to pray.

Can God count on as an intercessor?

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
