Hi
Yesterday I got the sense that it’s time to destroy some strongholds; and to accomplish this, we will use the principle from the storming of Jericho. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat
“But the Lord said to Joshua, “I have given you Jericho, its king, and all its strong warriors. You and your fighting men should march around the town once a day for six days.” Joshua 6:2-3 NLT
So on their way to the Land of God’s Promise, the children of Israel had to face Jericho. Ironically, Jericho had already gotten wind of the might of God, and of God’s preferential approach to the Hebrews. Because of that, the city was sealed shut. No one was allowed in who was out and vice versa. (See verse 1). For us to fully appreciate what that means, we must recall that cities in those days had fortified walls and gates through which persons entered. The walls were very thick, families were granted permission to live there; some I’m sure serving as sentries to the city. And as thick as the walls were, I am sure that those who lived there were armed, if only with hot water and such.
Looking at those walls; it must have seemed impossible to overcome; especially as the Hebrews were physically unarmed. They were also going to be very vulnerable walking around the city.
But God
And God said, get your fighting men and go around the city for six days. Once a day. Every day. They would have to trust God that no evil would befall them on that journey. That no one would pour hot milk, water, porridge or hot oil down on them as they journeyed.
Today – Day One – can you see the city that is barricaded against you? Call forth your infantry and prepare for battle. No, no fancy strategy. Just see yourselves going around the ‘city’ once daily; starting today.
Can we do that?
Let’s pray
Lord, only by Your might can strongholds be destroyed. I place my situation before You, the Living God, YHWH Sabaoth, as I walk around its city walls. Hear my prayer please Jesus; amen
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
