Nougat 22

Who defines us? Are we still living in the identity of past sins. Receive God’s promise in today’s Holy Nougat

“He has removed our sins as far from us as the east is from the west.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭103:12‬ ‭NLT‬‬

It’s weird to realize that sociopolitically and culturally, West may meet East and vice versa; but that is never the case geographically. For there’s always a West of our East, except roads and highways in places like the US. The analogy then is a means of saying that the sin committed by us do not define us permanently. That’s the grace that saves!

Now we are not told that God doesn’t get offended by our sins; rather, our sins are removed from our accounts. And, if the stain of my sin is removed from my record, if God’s grace exonerates me – why should I walk around like a condemned criminal or continue to hold on to something that is no longer mine? It really doesn’t add up!

Yet that’s how many of us are. We hold on to the stench of the removed sin, often those of others too. Why? Is it easier to believe the lies of the enemy than to accept that our sins are removed? What do we have to lose by believing this promise?

So, we ask forgiveness for the sins we remember and even those we may have forgotten to confess. Then, reminding Jesus of God’s promise to remove our sins we walk away from the identity. For that’s not us anymore. We repeat as often as needed.

And of course, we apply the same to others who we would define by the sins they committed.

It may take some time but we keep at it.
