Nougat 22

How au fait are you with the term ‘hater’? Basically, it is about those who present opposition to us. Today’s Holy Nougat invites us to seriously think about how we respond to hater.

““But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you.” ‭‭Luke‬ ‭6‬:‭27‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Do good to my haters!

Lord, You have got to be kidding me! I must do good to my Haters? Are You sure that this is what You want to say? I mean, You were at the beginning and here You are now. Don’t You get it when they say, ’Haters gonna hate!’? Lord that’s their full-time career!

I been struggling with loving them. And I finally worked it out – love them from a distance. That’s what smart people do! Cause we know what happens next – it’s simple – Haters gonna hate! In fact, some take the good things and poison it. Worse yet, some will persecute or prosecute You for helping. That’s what they did to Jesus – You know …

B-but He was different.

No! Not in that sense. He preached and followed up with the practice. Whachu say Lord? He was already a target when He said those words! Oh – the Pharisees and Teachers of the Law, all the ‘comfortable’ people who were disturbed by His Truths? Yet on the Cross He forgave! I’m not sure I have that in me.

Ouch

He forgave me too! I am like an enemy when I yield to sin. And some sins I keep repeating! So what about … not my business what they do. But they – okay Lord, I sticking to the beam in my own eyes. I repent of wrongdoing dear Jesus, please forgive me.

– Does that include my unwillingness to do good to my Haters? erm … I’m still struggling to wrap my head around this one. Still trying to get loving my enemy sorted. And that’s even loving them from a distance.

– But anything else results in hardening of my heart; and that pushes me away. I never thought of it that way.

– Yes, sometimes I remember and get mad all over again.

– Doing good will shift my perspective.

– Trust You and Your process? Uhm I – er, I think I trust You Lord. Help me heal, help me believe, help me! Lord please help please
