Hello hello hello
Lovely day to believe in miracles eh? I know; I know – us good believers don’t talk about such things right? Wrong. Everyone else is talking, and looking on, even if we aren’t. And this debate predates us. Ask Nicodemus his views based on today’s Holy Nougat
“But if you don’t believe me when I tell you about earthly things, how can you possibly believe if I tell you about heavenly things?” John 3:12 NLT
Did I hear an ‘Ouch!’? Seriously though, this is perhaps as true about us today as it was in Nicodemus’ era. And yes, he was a spiritual leader. I have looked askance at Nicodemus in the past, but as I’ve grown older in the faith, and having had a few Nicodemus moments, I have found that unfortunately, many of us get sidetracked about our beliefs.
Have you ever stopped to ‘audit’ your beliefs and discovered that it’s not as biblically grounded as you thought? Or questioned a particular ritual and discovered its genesis is more poof than provable?
On the other hand, have you found that Life or spiritual culture has impacted our ability to “faith” beyond the visible?
– Angels
– Miracles
– Speaking in tongues
– Prophecy (fire/forth telling)
– Spiritual gifts
– Spiritual realm
– Life beyond death (and whatever that might entail)
– God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit
– Power of Prayer
– Forgiveness
… just to consider a few
The world is hungry, dying even, for an experience of the heavenly. Consider the popularity of fortune telling, charismatic ministries and ‘faith’ healing (including naturopathy). What are we as believers offering to this dying, hungry and broken world?
am not attempting to offer any ‘truths’ today. So no worries on that score. Of course, our lifestyle, actions and speech might be communicating our ‘true’ beliefs much more loudly than we’d think And then what?
We gotta know Who we know and the Power that comes (or doesn’t come) with that knowledge. Do we understand heavenly matters?
