Hello

How do we mark time? Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™

“From now on, this month will be the first month of the year for you. Exodus 12:2 NLT

Forged in the furnace of slavery, the ordinance for the Jewish new year was handed down from YHWH. It’s not that they didn’t recognize traditional times and seasons, but the ordeal of slavery insisted on New Beginnings.

The same premise holds true for us as well. We might not effect a change in our physical calendar, but a shift in our circumstances may have the effect of time being framed with, “Before“; or “After‘. What we might not realize however, is God’s presence in our situation; especially if it was a harrowing or an emotional experience. Failure to recognize God’s hand in our situation does not negate God’s input, rather it invites us to look a little deeper, analyse a little differently.

The larger picture of the Slavery-Exodus Experience shows God orchestrating events amid the dehumanizing conditions. Thus, the Egyptians began to empathize with the Hebrews and eventually blessed then with EVERYTHING they needed for their new life. Could God be effecting shifts to exalt us after our season of bondage is over? Or that God has prepared a Place for us and obedience would permit us to circumvent the Wilderness? Hmmmn

I can hear Jesus whispering, “I go to prepare a place for you … “

Whatever our situation or circumstance, that is, our ‘Before …’ and ‘After …’; may we see God at work and hear God saying, “Happy New Year! Your time of turmoil is over”

God bless you

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
