Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Then I observed that most people are motivated to success because they envy their neighbors. But this, too, is meaningless—like chasing the wind.” Ecclesiastes 4:4 NLT
It’s not that success is wrong; it’s about what gets us there – motive, method, manifestation.
Motive – what drives the desire for success
Method – what is done to accomplish success
Manifestation – what is the visible attitude to our achievements
God’s desire is that we become successful; in all we do. Several scriptures attest to that. But success for the building up of God’s people and for God’s glory. And by God’s standards; not the world’s. So it might not always look the same. But, we can get aligned; that’s what Phillipians 4:8 is about. (Maybe we can discuss that soon; of course your feedback would help with that)
So Lord
Guide us to be successful by Your standards, as a love response to You. Show us where we have wrong motives; align our methods of treating others when we are successful and may our success manifest Your glory.
We wish to matter, Abba; but first to You, though our hearts believe otherwise. Can You forgive us please. Quicken our spirits in alignment with Yours we pray amen
