Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
““I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”” John 16:33 NIV
So there we go – God sometimes chooses to keep us in the loop. And we’re given this knowledge to preserve our peace of mind.
But let us not get things twisted – Peace here has naught to do with the absence of war. It is quite the opposite! Especially since as children of God, we already sport a large target on us. Oh yes. When we choose Christ, we automatically become Public Enemy Number 1 to the world and those of the world.
And that, is Trouble; with a capital ‘T’.
Choosing Christ can cost us family, friends, favour or even fortunes. Oh yes! For Matthew 16:24 very clearly advises that we,
Deny
Die
Dispatch
Deny ourselves by Dying to the things that compound our lives and our relationship with Jesus so we can be Dispatched as needed. And we are already set up for Victory!
Yup
Christ has already secured the victory for us regardless where we have been dispatched. It will work out no matter how many challenges our circumstances present.
So here we are full circle; as Christ followers, we are guaranteed trials scattered along our journeys. But we have Christ’s assurance that He will give us the knowledge we need to be at peace. Peace that says we are not alone even when it feels that way. Peace that gives confidence that God WILL see us through. Peace that basks in the knowledge that God, Who is with us, has already got the victory over ANYTHING we face.
