Hello there

Firstly, I wish to advise you that I may be offline for a few days; starting tomorrow. If so, please revisit some of your favorite reflections until I can be back with you.

Until then, please enjoy today’s Holy Nougat

“She fell at his feet and said, “I accept all blame in this matter, my lord. Please listen to what I have to say.” 1 Samuel 25:24 NLT

It might have been an arranged marriage; for sure they weren’t very compatible. Her husband was pompous and selfish. She was not. She was wise and peace-loving. He was not. She was diplomatic. He was not.The staff deferred to her. Not him. His actions were rash. She was quick witted.

It is not surprising therefore, that upon hearing of her husband’s actions; Abigail hastened to rectify the situation. She went to David, unaccompanied by her husband and apologized for his actions. Can you imagine – being obliged to apologize for someone else who is intentionally offensive? On a regular basis? And in the course of apologizing, having to claim responsibility for the wrong! Hmmn! Many unhappy people that would be.

Although she is not mentioned elsewhere for such; Abigail typifies Christ’s attitude towards us. And we are the Nabals. Time and again we disappoint and offend the Lord our God, and it is Jesus Who makes intercession for us with His life!

Let’s remember to thank Him for His gentle compassion today.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
