Here’s today’s Holy Nougat™
Now our Lord Jesus Christ himself, and God our Father who loved us and gave us eternal comfort and good hope through grace, comfort your hearts and establish them in every good work and word. 2 Thessalonians 2:16-17 ASV
Loved, comforted, hope-filled. Not a bad combination of gifts at all! Especially during a season of despair and lawlessness. A gift worth sharing. And not only at Christmas.
So here’s our challenge – whom might we gift with God’s love, comfort and hope? Perhaps someone who has forgotten that true Love exists? Or someone who is brokenhearted from the loss of a loved one (and the income and safety the person represented). Or someone who has succumbed to a life threatening ailment, who is scared about both the present reality and the future.
Maybe we first need to comfort ourselves, absorbing the impact of the promise to our own lives. If so, let’s do it (for its hard to share what we don’t have). And, after our spirits are buoyed, let’s rise to the challenge.
May God’s grace continue to sustain us as we imbibe the Word! Thank you for your continued support.
