Hello
It’s funny Isn’t it, when we make our plans and that’s all they are. Have you ever planned and prepped, only to hear God asking when was it that you two discussed the idea? I think that’s when we Jamaicans say, “Man a plan, but God a wipe out!” or as the Teacher would say in today’s nougat.
“Many are the plans of a man’s heart, but it is God’s plan which prevails”. Proverbs 19.21
That is not always easy. Especially in a world which encourages the “I-factor”. The one which says, life is all about me and I don’t have to consider the consequences. It becomes even more of an issue as Christians, if our choices suggest that God is not integral to our everything.
We ask God for bread, we know what bread looks like, but negotiate with others or steal in order to get what’s in someone else’s plate. And then we wonder, ‘but Lord; why didn’t you…?’ conveniently forgetting that God was not invited into our decision.
So if you’ve been through the pain of disappointment recently, where God has not given you the go ahead for something … Check that your plans are aligned to God’s plan. And that you haven’t gone bread- hunting.
Remember, God’s bread is always better.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
