Hello

Recently, I had the distinct pleasure of commuting via taxi and engaging in a conversation about life. One person recognized a call to ministry which had been ignored for fear of the cost. S/he admitted to being less than Souled Out to God. My dears, the term may be popularized over time; but the principle is biblical. Just see whether it aligns with today’s Holy Nougat

“For you are not a true Jew just because you were born of Jewish parents or because you have gone through the ceremony of circumcision. No, a true Jew is one whose heart is right with God. And true circumcision is not merely obeying the letter of the law; rather, it is a change of heart produced by the Spirit. And a person with a changed heart seeks praise from God, not from people.”

What is the state of our individual hearts? Has it been circumcised ie we’ve put away malice, slander, envy, worldliness, hot-temperedness, lying, cursing, lusting … etc? Some of us have fatty hearts. We indulge in lifestyles which on the surface seem ok and Christ-centered; but are mere rituals.

Who motivates us? Are we accountable to God or others first? And, where is our financial priority based? Being a true Jew is not easy. It’s not so much about observances of holy days and ritual foods and actions as it is about us being Souled Out and obedient to God’s will and purpose personified in Christ through the power of God’s Spirit. This is a biggie, for it demands the willingness to forsake all else and follow. No matter the cost!

What is the state of our hearts Or are we merely observant believers?
