Nougat 21

Today’s Holy Nougat invites reflection around Jesus’ identity

“He existed before anything else, and he holds all creation together.” Colossians 1:17 NLT

Whatever or Whoever existed BEFORE The Beginning must have been part of the Creation process. And, it is very likely that such a being is worthy of worship and praise. But it doesn’t end there. Rather, we are told that every single element that has been created remains under His control. Now, ain’t that something?!

It begs that we push-press to discover the identity of such a one. We may recall John emphatically asserting that from the onset, Jesus was. (Ironically, John also left Jesus’ name separate from his identity at the onset in John 1). Within that same description of Jesus, John adds an interesting point; Jesus came to His people; who failed to receive, recognize and worship Jesus. If those who did not recognize Him failed to worship; we who know Him must.

How do you and I perceive Jesus? Do we see Him as an integral aspect of the Trinity? Can we see Him at Creation, helping to fashion all that is, by the power of being The Word? And, despite all the distractions of today; can we see and feel Christ holding all things together? More important; will we worship Him and trust Him as our God?
