So what’s your takeaway from the reflections around spiritual gifts? While there are more gifts to be explored in 1 Corinthians 12, I’d like to zero in on key notes from the Romans gifts. Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“We have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us … Do not lag in zeal, be ardent in spirit, serve the Lord.” Romans 12:6, 11 NRSV

• Within every God-fearing fellowship, there should be a proliferation of spiritual gifts. And those gifts should NOT be manifested in only one individual. For the gifts of God’s Spirit are customized to our persona.

• Rather than begrudge another person his/her gift, it is better for us to discern and operate in that to which we have been called.

• Far often we associate particular spiritual gifts with individuals; and although we are each blessed with gifts according to God’s Grace; the gifts are about God. Not us.

• The gift received by God’s Grace is for the maturing and expansion of God’s church (1 Corinthians 14:12). It is not for our own personal glory.

• Yet, there’s someone in the world who awaits our obedience. For when we accept and manifest the gift given to us, lives are transformed.

• Having discerned our gift therefore, we ought to be about God’s business, for that IS our reasonable service.

I pray today that we walk into ALL our God has called and anointed us to be.
