Nougat 21

I know you know the scents and sounds of-battle, but have you stopped to process the scents and sounds of victory? Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“Shouts of joy and victory are in the tents of the righteous: “Adonai’s right hand is mighty! Adonai’s right hand is lifted high! Adonai’s right hand is mighty!”” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭118:15-16‬ ‭TLV‬‬

It doesn’t always look, sound or smell like victory – the battle can get very heated, with us sustaining injuries. And in those moments, it is so easy to forget Whose battle it is; and/or Who fights for us. For, when we do remember our perspective *can and will shift.* When we get this; and truly grasp the truth of God fighting for us (quite literally); and alongside us we find that we face the battle with confidence.

It transforms the dirges of defeat to songs of praise. Remember when the Israelites realized that David conquered Goliath? No longer were they quivering yet another day in fear; they exuberantly sang; “Saul has killed his thousands; but David tens of thousands!”(1 Samuel 18:7). And yes, they missed a piece of the point; for had they asked David, he’d have sang about the goodness of God: ”The Lord is my Light and Salvation, who shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1)

Likewise Elijah would have told us get our goulashes and raincoat on, for when God is for us; in the middle of a drought; we hear and smell the sound of abundant rain (1 Kings 18:41)! That’s what kept Paul going, while in stocks as a prisoner for Christ. He knew Who was on his side whether he was chained to guards or preaching to his enemies. Hence him and Silas singing Praise Songs while imprisoned (Acts16:25-26)! Their singing brought Heaven to earth;for every chain was loosed right there in the prison!

That’s what happens when we see the battle (ie our problems) from God’s victory perspective: we sing like Miriam; “Sing to the Lord for He is excellent! Horse and rider he has thrown into the sea.”

So let’s not get discouraged as ones who have no hope. Rather, let’s shout to God with the voice of triumph! Let’s sing to our Lord the praises for victory. Rise up! It’s time to dance in anticipation of the smell of rain! And when we see our deliverance; we can encourage someone else.
