Have you ever been in a challenging situation and you could smell the agony of defeat? I have. And sometimes it was so, but more often than not, I was misled. It was a relief to see that I was wrong. In today’s Holy Nougat we also reflect on this.
“Songs of joy and victory are sung in the camp of the godly. The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things! The strong right arm of the Lord is raised in triumph. The strong right arm of the Lord has done glorious things!” Psalms 118:15-16 NLT
For our reflection on the Nougat, let’s look at our own lives, recognizing that even if we’re fine now, there will be moments, or we can share with others. So we ask ourselves
What is your current mental state?(ie are you worried about something, grateful for victory, grieving, etc.)
How long has the feeling been with you and is it the first time
Can you recall a time when God delivered you from a similar situation
Are there specific scriptures that helped you get to peace back then (if yes, revisit then now)
Are there praise songs or hymns to which you turned (if yes, revisit then now)
Did you reach out to your prayer partner, a counselor or support group (if yes, revisit their advice or prayers)
Have you reached out to God in prayer as yet (if not, start praying now)
Now we are able, even in the midst of the situation, to sing praises or at least listen to praises to lift our spirits. For the battle is the Lord’s and by His resurrection power the victory is secure.
