Hello
Blessings to you and your family. Today’s Holy Nougat challenges our business as usual approach to God.
“I believe in your commands; now teach me good judgment and knowledge.”
Psalms 119:66 NLT
You see, believing in God and God’s commands/Word is one thing. Internalizing and applying is something else. And the wrong words could make the difference to our faith. (Just think about the number of denominations)
Sometimes rather than take the word of another, it is better to wait on the Lord’s guidance. Especially since God is still speaking. To you, to me, and many others. Being in the presence of other believers is important. That’s a great way to grasp fundamentals. Nevertheless, it is critical that we also create time to reflect and be alone in the presence of God.
We know God and confirm God’s existence throughout scripture, but the internalizing comes from personal time spent in God’s presence. Yes indeed, that’s not passé. It is when we seek God’s face in prayer and in depth Bible study. A little bit of music to good too, though it can be a bit distracting.
Praying and actively listening for a response through meditation on the Word or simply being still in God’s presence still works. And when it becomes a habit, we find that good judgment and knowledge will follow.
Let’s determine to up our time in God’s presence and see what impact it has on our lives.
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
