Hi

Welcome to our new readers on Facebook. We’re glad you decided to join us as we taste and reflect on the nourishing sweet Word of God. Here’s today’s Holy Nougat

“The Lord went ahead of them. He guided them during the day with a pillar of cloud, and he provided light at night with a pillar of fire. This allowed them to travel by day or by night.” Exodus 13:21 NLT

So, having gone the extra miles to ensure that the GOOD NEWS of Salvation is made available to ALL of us, is it reasonable for us to presume that God desires all of us to be safe from danger?

The journey from Egypt to the Land of Promise was treacherous. For though the journey could have been short, there were lessons to be learned, people to avoid, people to overcome, people to befriend, lands to be claimed, and God to continuously rely on before rest would be feasible. A short journey would not have taught them any of that.

The long journey didn’t see all the lessons being learned either. But they were closer to having a relationship with the God Who cares and saves than they had been in Egypt. And, somewhere along the way, the mental marks of slavery seemed to have been lifted (not without a murmur tho; remember the complaints in the wilderness about it being better to have lived in bondage than to ‘die in the wilderness’?).

In between Egypt and the Land of Promise, God chose to envelop them in God’s guiding, comforting presence. To assure them, and by extension ALL who trust in the Almighty, that God’s loving presence IS for eternity. Day and night, every day, for as long as we choose to recognize It.

Can you, can I sense God’s presence with us in our lives right now? Are we aware that for us, God has sent the Comforter – an even more ‘present’ Presence than the pillars of cloud and fire?! For in our busy/boring lives gone virtual; many of us would not see the pillars – especially if we’re staying in and keeping our physical distance from others!

And, for many of us, this journey with God has felt virtual, long before these times were upon us. And through it all, virtually and literally, God’s presence has been a constant Source of direction, protection and comfort every moment of the day, every day, no vacation.

That aspect of God has not AND will never change. If at all, we’re not sensing God’s presence; we may wish to ensure that we haven’t attempted to do our own thing; but more importantly; we can cry out, ‘Abba’!, and God will respond.

Guaranteed by Jesus.

Take a chance and reach out if you have not done so in a while or you need fresh reassurance. And if not, help another return home.

God bless you.

In Christ’s love and grace . . .
