“I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.” Galatians 2:20 NKJV
Painful truth:
When we accept Christ in our lives; every thing doesn’t magically or miraculously transform in that moment.
So for each choice we face, it is incumbent upon us to remember our status. That we no longer operate on our own as Christ is in control. And, since we cannot physically SEE Christ within (we can see the effects), then it is indeed faith that affords us the resolve for God’s Spirit to transform our lives.
God’s Spirit is ready to help us live the resurrected life however. For it does require assistance. From a practical standpoint we recall – that which is dead or inanimate can’t operate on its own. It needs external stimulation. That’s where God’s Spirit comes in. When we choose to live in Christ, the Spirit of God mobilizes us for service.
This applies to the little things, and to the serious decisions we have to make. I pray that our default choice is the one rooted in faith in Jesus. No longer living for or by ourselves; but Christ within and with us.
