Ever wondered whether you got your praise on right? Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“Let us come into his presence with thanksgiving; let us make a joyful noise to him with songs of praise! For the Lord is a great God, and a great King above all gods.” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭95:2-3‬ ‭NRSV‬‬

Enter Where?

So, where do we find God’s presence? The answer is tricky – God is Everywhere. But I’d propose that if we’re entering God’s presence, then we might be speaking about our quiet time spaces, our collective worship spaces (including Zoom rooms, sanctuaries or our homes), or wherever we are in a moment when the urge to worship hits us.

Enter How?

And … how do we enter, when we get to where God’s is? Joyously! With Praises & Thanksgiving! Those are like codes that guarantee direct access to God! And the joy is; God’s ALWAYS available. Anytime we choose; whether we are fancily dressed on the outside or not.

This may be with loud Hallelujahs, with musical instruments; with praise dance, sign language and/or with songs. What matters is that this is praise-filled and placing God at the center of it all.

Why Enter?

Why enter with praise, you ask? Well, I’d say, the Why depends upon the Who! For, if God is Lord of our lives; if God is Creator and us the created; if God is Sovereign, and the King of Glory; then it stands to reason that God has earned all the praise, thanksgiving, joy, adoration and adulation we have within us.

Just like that

We also enter with praise to remind ourselves of God’s ability to do far more than we can ever hope for or imagine. We place ourselves in a position to freely receive; having gratitude for past, present and continuous mercies! We praise to get closer to God.

So having figured that there’s no wrong time to praise God … how about now?!
