What’s the best gift you have received recently? Today’s Holy Nougat offers us an incredible gift.

What a gift! Amidst all the foment and uncertainty surrounding them, Jesus offers Peace. The kind that silences the storms that crop up, conquers fear and transforms every space it occupies. Yes, that’s the peace Jesus offers.

I know that it’s hard to envisage the Peace offered in our time, when climate change is a looming catastrophe, wars are popping up at an alarming rate, and violence has been normalized just about everywhere. But that’s exactly the conditions required for the peace Jesus offers. It reminds us that bad things can and will happen but ’all things work together [not separately] for [our] good’ when we respond in Love to the Lover of our souls!

You see, we could have been left bereft of anything to overcome the problems that come our way. We could have had no free solution to the challenges that face us. But this peace is free, just like God’s grace, and we only need to accept it in Faith. We recognize it as yet another sign of God’s love for us.
