Nougat 20

The new thing is in train. Can we see it? And how do we respond? Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“For I am about to do something new. See, I have already begun! Do you not see it? I will make a pathway through the wilderness. I will create rivers in the dry wasteland.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭43‬:‭19‬ ‭NLT‬‬

Although technology has shifted and even transformed some norms, a wasteland is typically uncharted territory. That doesn’t always mean void of human presence, but definitely not the beaten track. And without a doubt, there would have been no roads.

By creating pathways in the wilderness, God is not only doing a new thing, but that God’s miraculous powers. This image is strengthened by the reference to streams in the desert. In so doing, there’s the allusion to God’s creativity as well as God’s provision. For, creating roadways in the desert is good and powerful; but one cannot escape how God overturns the natural order with streams in the desert. I hasten to note that – to my knowledge – God’s provision of streams in the desert has never been replicated. Yes, we have made lakes but flowing water hasn’t at yet been accomplished.

This is the new thing God des in each of our lives. Overturning the natural order to make way for the supernatural in each of us. Can you sense it – streams of Living Water replacing our desert spaces? What will we do with God’s transformation?
