Today’s Holy Nougat is an invitation for us to pray.

“If any of you are suffering, they should pray. If any of you are happy, they should sing. If any of you are sick, they should call for the elders of the church, and the elders should pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. Prayer that comes from faith will heal the sick, for the Lord will restore them to health. And if they have sinned, they will be forgiven.” ‭‭James‬ ‭5‬:‭13‬-‭15‬ ‭CEB‬‬

Let’s Pray

Dear YHWH

Thank You for this opportunity to come to You in prayer. Your grace abounds in these times like we couldn’t begin to imagine. You are absolutely wondrous, too wondrous for words – so we praise You with the highest praise: Hallelujah!

As we praise, we recognize that we have failed to live as we ought, failed to trust You – looking to all sorts of alternatives instead of You. Forgive us Lord.

And as we rectify that act of faithlessness, we not only confess that we have failed, but now we turn to You, our Source. We bring firstly, our joys: life, family, sight, and hope. Thank You Abba for blessings beyond our wildest desires. Help us count everything You’ve bestowed upon us. We know that there are others Lord, but we bring these before You at this time.

From the bounty within and around us, may we be willing to help others, so they might experience You and Your generosity through us. Allow Your light to shine forth from us brilliantly, so even those who have trouble seeing literally and spiritually will see You and honor Your Name.

And in remembering those with impaired vision, we also invite Your healing on the sick and broken in spirits. God of Creation Whose Breath transforms chaos into order, breathe transformation through us into the broken bodies and spirits. Heal Abba, for Your Word suggests it’s Your children’s daily bread. Lord, while You’re healing, heal our unbelieving hearts please for somehow it is easier to doubt You than to have faith. We believe Lord, heal our unbelief.

For the suffering YHWH Jireh, whether they are displaced by fires or floods or earthquake damage or rising sea levels or hurricane or volcanic activity or conflict; Or if their suffering is due to another’s direct cruelty; we speak Your Shalom over the troubled waters of our lives. Restore souls as You lead us away from focusing on the trauma. And when we are restored please show us how to help others.

For the broken, the lonely, the despairing … renew us in our right minds and be The companion we need. Help us see and feel You enfold us in Your love, please Lord.

We offer this prayer and all the other concerns in our hearts to You, in the name of Jesus Christ, Our Lord and Savior
