Have you ever needed a helping hand to get going? I have. At times it has not been easy. Sometimes, not so. But what if the dependence is the result of literally never having been able to get moving on our own before? In such instances, how readily we trust may depend on our experience. Whatever the case, we receive the challenge from God to place our trust in Y’shua, as we consider Today’s Holy Nougat

Acts 3:7-8 CEVDCI

[7] Peter then took him by the right hand and helped him up. At once the man’s feet and ankles became strong, [8] and he jumped up and started walking. He went with Peter and John into the temple, walking and jumping and praising God.

Exuberant Praise

It worked.

Peter and John took a leap of faith by speaking to the lame man’s dry bones. They added a bit of ‘works’ to their faith, and bones, ligaments and muscles that no longer coordinated, worked in tandem to get the man moving. No egg in face moment for them there. And for Luke’s audience who didn’t know the end of the saga, it was a fitting end to the story.

Despite reading the turn of events for the first time, I can imagine that some of Luke’s audience were able to script the ending. Because it’s what we all desired as the ending. Even so, given human selfishness, it is also possible that the man would not choose praise. But he did.
