Where can we find God’s Kingdom? Something to consider as we imbibe today’s Holy Nougat
“neither shall they say, Lo, here! or, There! for lo, the kingdom of God is within you.”
Luke 17:21 ASV
In response to the trick question, Jesus turns things back on the scoffers by redirecting heaven’s location; to our hearts.
Now that was a somewhat radical; offering from Jesus, but it did what it needed to do. More than that it offers you and me the chance to ascertain that God’s kingdom is inside us. (Now that’s ‘insider’ knowledge God loves us to have)
So what are the implications of God’s kingdom being within, rather than being a fixed address? Accessibility – it’s right inside. Availability – no one to cut in ion our time with God; no exceptions. Accountability – if God’s kingdom is within us; then we have NO excuse for ignoring God. Moreover, we ought to note that the Kingdom of God is not contingent upon our acceptance of God’s mercy!
