To Prophesy or Prophe-lie, that’s the question. Siblings, we live in an era where the love of, or perhaps the desire for profits overshadows the genuine desire to be prophetic. Did you realize that Y’shua Jesus prophesied about that? Consider Today’s Holy Nougat.
Matthew 24:10-11 NIV
[10] At that time many will turn away from the faith and will betray and hate each other,
[11] and many false prophets will appear and deceive many people.
Beware! False Prophets are Near
Siblings, I tell you. It is serious. The marked increase in the number of prophets, apostles, evangelists, and ministers all claiming to be sent by God, performing signs and wonders – for profit – is worrisome. We know all street preachers, televangelists, and visiting prophets aren’t fake, but there are those whose sole aim is to scam. To use Y’shua’s phrase, their ‘father is the devil’ (John 8:44); therefore we must be on our guard against them.
Query
Have you ever been caught up in the drama/trauma of false prophets? I have, but was able to escape their clutches before it got out of control.
Application
These acts remind us that The End is near, but it has not yet come. The disciples requested signs, and that’s what all these are. We know dilation, contraction, and rupturing of the sac indicate that birth is imminent, it is the same with the signs.
The manifestation of the false gifts can disillusion others, and we may hear that being cited as a cause for the falling away. We have to recall that God doesn’t demand gimmicks to build the church. What God demands is repentance and belief, manifested in our love for God, neighbour, and self. End Times or not, that’s what is required.
When the Love Lifestyle is a direct part of our daily reality, we find that others will be drawn to the genuine Christ. We are the ‘church’ before, during, and after communal worship. It’s our ‘Christ-light’ that shines forth, drawing others to life in Christ Jesus. That’s the antidote for the waning of belief in Christ.
So we pray for those we know whom we believe could benefit from a dose of faith in Christ. We share God’s love through our interactions with others. We invite others to experience that Love which delivers and saves. We ensure that we too, are ready for Christ’s return.
