Hi
There’s a difference between our understanding of ‘blessed’ and the spiritual reality. For one, we tend to see blessedness from a very materialistic perspective. And that’s not what the Word says. Take today’s Holy Nougat for example
““But blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.” Jeremiah 17:7 NLT
This implies a correlation between being blessed and the depths of our God-relationship. For it is the solidity of our relationship (is and God) which enables us to trust in God during life’s impossible moments and hope seems vain. And that, says the psalmist is what a blessing comprises.
Yet, for many of us, being blessed goes hard in hard with material possessions. It may have stemmed from Abraham’s blessings en route and within the Promised Land. But a deeper reading of Abraham’s story indicates that the blessings stem from obedience to God’s invitation to travel into the unknown. Not easy. I’m telling you.
So with many of us seeking blessings from God, let us ensure that we are right and tight, for that gives us the strength to overcome.
May our paths reflect the blessings we have received, from God for ourselves and others.
Good morning
In Christ’s love and grace . . .
