Hello saints,
How was your weekend? Mine was absolutely blessed. Had one of those ministry clarifying moments with my sister. What a wake up call! Then yesterday, had a great pep talk with a Sister-Evangelist who later broke the Word at a church service we attended today. She was preaching under The Anointing! A word in season for me for sure. To God be the glory
But now I got sidetracked! Let’s focus on the table prepared … Here’s today’s Holy Nougatâ„¢
This is what the Lord says: Be fair-minded and just. Do what is right! Help those who have been robbed; rescue them from their oppressors. Quit your evil deeds! Do not mistreat foreigners, orphans, and widows. Stop murdering the innocent! Jeremiah 22:3 NLT
Before drawing one of the more ‘obvious’ conclusions about the word from Jeremiah, I invite us to consider how our actions may have been unjust or unfair to others. As God’s elect, we need to consider our individual and collective responsibility in fostering injustice one way or the other.
The untenable state of affairs regarding migrants and refugees is a very obvious case of unjust approaches to the ‘Other’; but what of how we treat those who are different from us? In some instances, it’s not what we actively do, rather it’s what we (sub)consciously condone or are apathetic toward.
So, perhaps today we could commit to being hands and voice for the downtrodden and disenfranchised. To making the difference forgotten and forsaken persons need in their lives. When crime, in particular violent crimes are on the increase across the globe, it is time for us to get involved … Before it becomes one of us who is the latest casualty.
May we find the passion and strength to be involved for heaven’s sake!
