I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you. Psalms 119:11 NLT
Ironically, though many of us claim we don’t wish to sin against God, our actions, words and thoughts suggest otherwise.
In hiding God’s Word within our Secret Place, we establish the very foundation of our thought life and, by extension, our lived faith. Then, when life seems to intervene, the relevant Word is already ingrained upon our systems to counteract and/or preserve.
Hiding God’s Word is not a fanciful act. It requires deliberation and dedication. We must be INTENTIONAL in creating that setting for the Word, so that the Word and the Spirit will opt to reside permanently. It also means that we consciously choose to immerse ourselves in God’s Word.
That takes time.
And Love.
