Galatians 1:24 NLT
Context is everything, isn’t it. At a glance this sends to be about bragging rights. Rather it’s part of Paul’s testimony of his own faith journey from persecutor to preserver of the Gospel. It was a note of assurance to the Galatians church of the awesomeness of God’s amazing Grace! Rather than face Condemnation for his wrongs after Repentance; Paul was favorably received (even by Peter) and was later praised.
Two complementing thoughts here … What’s our testimony? Where did God’s Grace intervene and turn things around in our own lives? [Spoiler alert: it might not be quite as dramatic as Paul’s] How have we experienced God’s mighty hand transforming our lives or the lives of those around us?
Moreover, how are we being called to receive those whose faith journeys mirror Saul-Paul’s? It happens in this era too. And many of us would rather predict condemnation and failure rather than praise God for amazing Grace. Could this be our wake-up call?
