Nougat 2

Please note, the nougats will soon break for a bit, we will resume within a week

Have you ever poured your heart out to a friend and realized that the person was distracted and not paying attention? It’s not a fun feeling. Today’s Holy Nougat offers an alternative experience for each of us, should we choose to receive it.

“I love the Lord because he hears my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because he bends down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath!” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭116:1-2‬ ‭NLT‬‬

We try to avoid loving materially, yet far often, that’s exactly what we do – love in response to the another’s actions. And, according to our psalmist, that’s part of our love for God – a response to our Forever Friend, Who is always ready to hear us – no matter what. And when it’s a cry of desperation, a request for strength or a prayer of forgiveness, God’s mercy is ever with us.

That’s not always how it feels – but it is our Truth. So how do we tap into this – it can be as simple as a sigh or calling on God’s name. Or we might find words to give utterance to whatever is on our mind. The great news is – God’s waiting to hear from us! Yes, beyond whatever would cause us dis-ease, God’s grace is open to our cry for help.

And we are so thankful that God may send individuals and even groups to accompany us. So let’s go back to visit our previous crises and see how God intervened each and every time. That is what leads us to praise and repentance. I suspect it will lead us to love God’ more and more.

It is my prayer that as we remember God’s grace in our own lives; we might opt to share our experience with others to help them in their journey.

May all we seek be found in Christ
