How’s the former half of the year been? Pretty interesting I hope.
Rather than get caught up in the month and such, I’d like you to answer a question.
What’s your favorite reality show? The Voice, Britain’s got Talent, Rising Stars, Naked and Afraid (can you tell that I’m not very up to date on television programmes), or some other? Mine is called
My Life
In that show, I get the opportunity to make choices which have short and long term impact on my health, education, citizenship, carbon footprint, spiritual life, the environment, politics etc. And, as in most reality shows, some parts are open to public scrutiny and general viewership; whole others … Well, you might wish you knew.
The critical thing is, regardless WHO or WHAT is viewing; every element, the choices I make reflect my faith stance in that moment. Furthermore, i ask always ultimately performing for a singular audience: God. And sometimes, when the tape is played back, I cringe at the thought of how I disappointed God.
And that’s the aperitif which prepares us for today’s Holy Nougat™
And it is impossible to please God without faith. Anyone who wants to come to him must believe that God exists and that he rewards those who sincerely seek him. Hebrews 11:6 NLT
So, in those moments when “nutten nah gwaan”, despite multiple prayers for breakthrough, a miracle, vindication, favor, etc; pleasing God needs to be our Number 1 priority.
And when the naysayers are convinced that what you are about is NOT in keeping with God’s will; ignore the world and focus on The One Who is able to keep you.
And when life burns us and we can scarcely find enough strength to keep us going; let’s Press On. Believing in the God Who sustains and heals, for in believing we will seek, and in our seeking, God will reward us as God so deems.
So how about the reality show called YOUR LIFE? How’s your faith evidenced to others when life gets in the way?
Can you imagine the end of the reality show when the prizes are awarded? I suspect that our acts of faith will result in our Blessings. What would you like your reward to be?
