I’ve been thinking about this faith walk we’re on; and I’ve gotta admit – it’s not always easy. Hmm hmmm. Some things God ask of us – wow! Like today’s Holy Nougat for example
“bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do.” Colossians 3:13 NKJV
This is not always easy. For some folks truly find our last nerve and take full residence – or so it seems. Bearing with, erm …
And what about the forgiveness routine! It’s hard when the pain is fresh. But have you had your personal practical 70 x 7 experience? You know, where you KNOW beyond the shadow of doubt that you’ve forgiven, and the sin is a recurring decimal on your spirit? If so, how’d you overcome?
Because it isn’t always easy, this business called forgiveness. And sometimes it’s not a new issue which rubs the soul raw; but ancient grievances, (should have been) long forgotten. Except when it returns full force, tangibly taking us back to the place of old scar tissue, not wholly healed.
And we are obliged to unpack anew, to discern the source of the pain and release it once again to the Lover of our souls. Then, having released the hurt, release ourselves from the chains which seek to bind by letting God’s Spirit in to blow afresh
Repeating as needed for our own salvation. In so doing, we live as Christ does.
