A few years ago, many of us were excited to learn about the Higgs Boson (particle) theorists won the Nobel Prize in 2013. (Of course, several of us are shaking our head and wondering … eh what?). This is the tiniest reactionary particle within a cell, and is also known as the ‘God particle’. It has also been used – at the prestigious CERN laboratories to help demystify and corroborate the Big Bang theory.
As a theologian, my interest was sparked by one version purporting that the Boson particle was omnipresent; and the stimulus for molecular action. I am no scientist, but it is postulated that …
‘the particle originates from an invisible field that permeates all space.
“Even when the universe seems empty this field is there,” reports the Los Angeles Times from the CERN statement; “Without it we would not exist, because it is from contact with the field that particles acquire mass.”’
Consider today’s Holy Nougat in light of the above.
“There is one Lord, one faith, one baptism, one God and Father of all, who is over all, in all, and living through all.”

One of the theories surrounding the Boson particle is that its basic shape is that of a Cross. This, many believers argue is proof of God’s existence, as God’s signature is inscribed on all living matter. And it probably is. The truth is, we (most of us anyway) take the information in faith; because scientists have ‘proven’ the theory. Jesus once argued, as did Paul, that it was better to believe without seeing (John 20:29).
That would be many of us. Because those of us who accept God as YHWH, being IN all and living THROUGH all; generally do so First on the grounds of Faith. Afterward, if/when something happens to disturb our world, we seek proof. I am not well read in the field of Science, but I recall one needing to begin with a hypothesis before proving or disproving a theory. And, with talk of evolution and Big Bangs and other explanation of life coming into being, I remain convinced that it all began and continues to begin with God.

The One Who is In All and is my All in All. I am immensely happy that the ‘God Particle’ has been confirmed. (And I’m even happier it has that moniker, though it wasn’t intended for interpretation in the way we tend to think). I am confident that God is even happier when we believe in God’s existence with or without proof; and confess Jesus as Lord.
