It’s worth noting that Jesus is a package deal. Having resurrected and ascended, it is not feasible to choose His pre-crucified life; and it is equally impossible to opt for His human or divine side. Belief in Jesus means that we receive Him in all His glory and it includes the offer of salvation. Here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“And this is God’s plan: Both Gentiles and Jews who believe the Good News share equally in the riches inherited by God’s children. Both are part of the same body, and both enjoy the promise of blessings because they belong to Christ Jesus.” Ephesians 3:6 NLT
The joy of Jesus as a package deal is that Gentiles are included in the package. Oh yes we are! As stated in previous nougats one core goal Jesus has was reconciling the world to God/Himself (see John 3:16; 2 Corinthians 5:19); for that’s the point of eternal life. Moreover, through this act of Reconciliation; we have *equal* access to the riches of Heaven; including the most precious gift of salvation.
Remember the parable of the Vineyard Workers (Matthew 20:1-16)? Where the laborers ALL were hired at different times, but offered a similar wage; it’s the same with us – we all have the same access to God’s grace. And best of all – even when the trial and fears come at us, we know that our belief is anchored in the crucified, resurrected and ascended Lord.
What this means for us in the bigger scheme of life is: we ought also treat all God’s chosen the same! That’s the only thing. I’m not so much talking about lines of authority as I am referring to our prejudices. We are not the one selected to be the Righteous Judge; that’s Jesus!
Our response to our election is to remind others that they also have equal access to this offer of inheritance, blessings, riches and belongingness. I guess the bigger question is – will we?
