Nougat 19

Please receive today’s Holy Nougat

“You are no longer ruled by your desires, but by God’s Spirit, who lives in you. People who don’t have the Spirit of Christ in them don’t belong to him.” ‭‭Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭9‬ ‭CEV‬‬

So we live life to the fullest, recognizing that fullness in Christ is not the same as the world’s fullness. Our selfish desires are not always in sync with God’s, but we know that regardless how it seems, God’s way is the best way. For we don’t have the benefit of foresight; but we are blessed with hindsight. And hindsight must already have taught us that we are much better off when we start out yielding to God. Having come to this realization, why should we change course now?

Is it really worth it to go against God’s Spirit, knowing that the Spirit of God is personally committed to affording us the best life ever? I think we’re smart enough to give God’s Spirit full control. And we know God’s control is liberating: where God’s Spirit is, we have freedom to do and be (see 2 Corinthians 3:17). And when we embrace that liberating Presence we are at one with God.

It’s really stock taking time for us. Time to discern what to let go of, Who to embrace, what to do for God’s glory and when to do it. Wherever we are in in the process, let’s remember that God’s grace is sufficient to cleanse our sins when we falter. So we brush off (ie confess our sins and repent of them) and keep on going in the path God’s Spirit has laid down for us. It’s doable. By God’s Spirit.

Please be in prayer for Sudan, where the conflict is intensifying; for Ukraine-Russia, where women and children are weaponized and rape is the order of the wartime day; for Myanmar, where the war continues unabated and kidnapping is now added in the equation; for Yemen, where children face early marriages to keep the family alive; for Ethiopia-Tigray, where this divided house is destroying families; for an end to wars as God’s Kingdom is ushered in.
