Beautiful song. And even more beautiful when reflected on alongside today’s Holy Nougat.
“Don’t be afraid!” Elisha told him. “For there are more on our side than on theirs!” Then Elisha prayed, “O Lord , open his eyes and let him see!” The Lord opened the young man’s eyes, and when he looked up, he saw that the hillside around Elisha was filled with horses and chariots of fire. 2 Kings 6:16-17 NLT
There they were. In the house with the Syrian cavalry without; ready to annihilate them. An entire squadron vs two unarmed men! The odds were zero past none! And yet, the more senior of the two was unperturbed.
He knew something his servant/second- in-command did not. He knew that God had already sent God’s cavalry. Those horses on the hillside were not operating on their own. They were the chariots of heaven and angelic horsemen accompanied the horses. Regardless of HOW grim things seemed in the Natural; the odds were matched and set in the Supernatural. And God’s team was definitely the victorious one!
If I were to consider my own life situations; I might be tempted to look at the natural order and accept defeat – especially before the battle is done (tarral coward man keep sound bone). However, in addition to today’s Holy Nougat, two other nougats override the natural consensus
Greater is He who is in me than he who is in the world 1 John 4.4 AND
Stand still and see the salvation of the Lord … the Lord WILL fight your battles – only be still Exodus 13.13-14
This applies to all of us who are called by God’s name. And we have the assurance that with the size of God’s army, and with angels already assigned to us – the odds are definitely in God’s our favour.
So
If any of us feels outnumbered or outgunned by the onslaught of the enemy; invite the lord to open our eyes so we might see the Truth of our situation. The battle is the Lord’s. God has already made a way. May our eyes be opened to our True reality.
