How easily we forget. Things seemed to be going fine – there was no fighting for territory, no worrying whether surrounding nations would be attacking or passing threats to good passage through the wilderness. Life was comfortable. God was not.
Unfortunately, we also suffer from amnesia over time. The conditions may not mirror Israel’s, but our attitude probably would. When life is good, we readily forget the God of our Salvation, and when life gets unbeatable the blame game begins…
Perhaps it is time for intentional inclusion of God in our lives. The first concepts which comes to mind is that of developing a culture of Praise, wherein praise is our standard and God our Captain.
Let’s try that noh? Then perhaps those who follow would find us faithful.
