Hey hey heyyyyy

Are you ready?

Celebration Sabbath/Sunday continues with today’s Holy Nougat

“Some time later, the Lord spoke to Abram in a vision and said to him, “Do not be afraid, Abram, for I will protect you, and your reward will be great.”” Genesis 15:1 NLT

Starting anew, even if not entirely from ‘scratch’, can be intimidating. God had guided Abraham to where God desired him to be. They were having a regular conversation when God reminded Abraham of God’s early promise. And God added an interesting clause; ‘Do not be afraid.’ It’s a little odd, for Abraham had seemed fearless on the journey.

Thus far, he had been obliged to part ways with Lot, then went to war with some of the toughest kingdoms of his day and thrashed them.

Definitely NOT grounds for Abraham to be fearful. Perhaps God, Who knows the heart of us humans, was speaking to a growing anxiety which was not evident to the greater public.

But God knew Abraham. Just as God knows us.

And with that knowledge comes the commitment to protect Abraham, and by virtue – us (מָגֵןYHWH Maginni). Such is the nature of our God – literally ready to be our Refuge BEFORE we call! Isn’t that just awesome?!

Yesterday, we celebrated God’s provision of newness and the miraculous – streams in the desert. And we reckoned that it was cause to celebrate! Today, we celebrate God’s presence and protection, especially when we are afraid or disquieted.

As we resume this journey into the fullness of life for our new season, I invite us to bask in the joy of knowing Who is Our Refuge. We continue our praise in Celebration Sabbath/Sunday; with gratitude for Who our God promises to be. Always.
