Greetings everyone
What a beautiful day it is! Time to celebrate! Yes it is. Recently a friend was processing a situation and arrived at what is humans would refer to as D-Day. In the middle of the reflection, today’s Holy Nougat™ came pouring forth.
This is the day that the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it. Psalm 118:24 ESV
Immediately the friend’s perspective shifted. For, the fact is – if it IS the Lord’s Day, then our focus cannot be on situations and stuff, the focus is on the Lord.
Now here’s the clincher … Choosing to rejoice in the moment is an act of Faith. It is a defiant act which declares our allegiance to the God of all Grace, rather than whichever situation confronts us.
So,
When unemployment strikes its threatening head … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When fear and frustrations seek to get us down … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that the day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When crippling, life-threatening illnesses assail us … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When investments go sour and we’re one paycheck away from total depravity … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When friends forsake and we’re feeling all alone … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When the bottom drops out of the housing situation, and we’re days away from being on the street … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When life gets overwhelming, and we can’t seem to find our way … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When loved ones die and grief gets overwhelming … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
When life is so glorious that it seems as if nothing can go wrong … Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord
My dear, worry adds no value to our lives – spiritual, physical or otherwise. Let us remember, no matter what this day brings, God has made it, allowed us to awaken to it, that’s reason enough to Rejoice and be Glad in it.
Rejoice, God’s grace carries us, we rejoice that this day, its bounty and its battles belong to the Lord!
