Hello

How about when you feel less than?

Here’s today’s nougat

He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Psalms 23:3

In Hebrew restore also suggests conversion, making new or bringing back to the original state. Let’s step away from the sheep image for a bit and think of restoration of buildings or furniture. For every restoration task I’ve seen, that which is restored is somewhat repurposed and it’s better than before.

The thing is, it’snever usually an easy task. It involves stripping away the worn layers ( of varnish, paint, cloth, scarred wood etc) to unearth the essence of the object and then adding sustenance of some sort to strengthen and enhance.

Can you imagine our God, Master Restorer, stripping away hurts, sin, doubts, fears or even bitterness to get to the essence of who we are … our soul; breathing God’s own nature into us and covering us with that Blessed robe of Righteousness? Yes, for God’s reputation as Master Restorer hinges on honoring the promise … Therefore we who are in Christ are new, old things are sloughed off; Truly – Come see! Our souls are restored.

Hallelujah

What a good God
