I remember years ago watching He-man and getting caught up in his displays of power. And for the purposes of the cartoon, yes He-man was powerful. But there’s another who has Live Power in every situation.
Something to chew on as we nibble at today’s Holy Nougat™
Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his might.
Ephesians 6:10 KJV
Firstly, we find strength not in our power but in God’s. And we recall that God’s strength is best revealed when we’re willing to accept our weaknesses. God’s strength also affords us the opportunity to withstand the billows which life sends our ways. It affords us the leeway to overcome temptation.
Secondly, we recognize that our strength in the Lord grants us access to God who is YHWH Sabbaoth, the Lord mighty in battle. God’s mighty power creates with just a word, raises from the dead, closes mouths of predatory animals, battles for us when our hope and strength is gone and protects us from every plan of the enemy.
As we surrender our skills and our strength to God, let us be mindful of the fact that God is not slack concerning God’s promises. Thus, we are guaranteed that our concerns will be addressed. In God’s timing, in God’s way.
Let us stand in God’s mighty and awesome power today without delay.
