Nougat 18

In mathematics and programming, there’s a way of processing information that is solely dependent on ‘Facts’. Data presented can only be processed to offer two outcomes known as Truth Values or Variables. Using the Logic Operators AND, OR, and NOT, Boolean Logic then assesses what is programmed to determine the True or False outcome (in response to established fact). Eg

FALSE

We note that the Truth Variables under the Logic Operators point to a known Outcome. Based on the Known outcome, the program ‘fact-checks’ the outcome received to confirm True or False. Though it sounds complex right now, we use it for problem-solving quite frequently.

To some extent, this may also be applied to our faith. Consider today’s Holy Nougat

“Since we are living by the Spirit, let us follow the Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.” ‭‭Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭25‬ ‭NLT‬‬

In Boolean logic, the data variables are

A Living

B by God’s Spirit

The Truth Variable is

Follow God’s Spirit in every single aspect of our lives;

with the Logic Operators AND or NOT. So when we are Living AND Living by God’s Spirit the Fact is We submit to (ie follow) the leadership of God’s Spirit in ALL we do.

Now Paul has given us the Known Outcome. So if we are not submitting to God’s Spirit in All aspects of our lives, it’s saying we aren’t living BY God’s Spirit. We know what Living is – it’s the same as breathing and physically existing in time and space. And since we are ‘physically alive’, then it means we need to get the other variable in order. That is ‘By God’s Spirit’. And we find in that same chapter the key to living by God’s Spirit – it’s the evidence of the Fruit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control ‭‭(Galatians‬ ‭5‬:‭22b‬-‭23‬a).

Are those welcome and evident in our lives? How about us making them our Living priority?
