*Unwavering Hope*
Unlike its Hebrew counterpart yesterday, Hope is referred to, not as a cord of deliverance but, as expectation, trust, and anticipation; confidence in someone or something. Throughout our lives, we each express Hope in people and objects which drive fear in others. Sometimes it’s due to innocence or limited information; but there are times when we made a choice despite the ‘evidence’ around us.
While it may be that our choices were very limited; the fact is – we made the choice. Sometimes the decision is made in split seconds, and if the trust/confidence gets misplaced we have trouble with decision-making thereafter. Yet, we may also find ourselves relying on the same thing again and again.
With God, we have One Who is beyond human, yet took on humanity to offer us Hope for our Future. One Who always prioritizes our needs, not our wants and Who is always vested in our future. I would say that, unlike many things and people that garner our loyalty and trust, God always inspires confidence! Not once in a while but always. Check the evidence and confirm God’s track record. Our best interest is always God’s priority.
And when we need reassurance of our ‘why’, may we remember God’s promises
Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be discouraged, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you. I will hold you up with my victorious right hand!
