So having moved past the insecurities of life; what is our next step to realizing our potential? Consider today’s Holy Nougat as an opportunity.
“I pray that from his glorious, unlimited resources he will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit.” Ephesians 3:16 NLT
As one who exists best in market-driven economy, the mention of resources brings the idea of ‘riches’ to mind. When coupled with ‘unlimited’ and used as reference to or descriptor of God, it is even easier to get drawn into thoughts of cattle on a thousand hills; gates of pearl; streets of gold, etc. All those resources are valuable and good, particularly for this life; yet if that’s all we can conceive, we’ve missed out on some of God’s best treasures.
That is perhaps the greatest benefit of this nougat. It redirects our thoughts from the material and concrete to more relational gains. Just think; in our weakest moments; God equips us with what we need to endure or overcome. All ours for the asking.
So, our success is not so much about our own strength or capacity as it is a reflection of God’s riches outpoured for the moment of our need. It reminds me of James 5; when we are encouraged to call on the elders to endorse our prayers in times of sickness and despair. And while some may argue that that only applies to sickness; we also have the assurance that when we’re at our wits’ end, both Jesus Christ and God’s Spirit are interceding for us.
Further, we each have the blessed assurance that when we are at our weakest; God’s strength is available for us.
Within us.
Right when we need God’s input.
Wherever we are are in our life journey. Wherever we are physically located.
