What do you think is the best news about the Resurrection of Jesus? – the empty grave? – the woman witness? – Jesus’ triumph over death? Consider today’s Holy Nougat
“But God is so rich in mercy, and he loved us so much, that even though we were dead because of our sins, he gave us life when he raised Christ from the dead. (It is only by God’s grace that you have been saved!)” Ephesians 2:4-5 NLT
My dears
If for one moment you wondered whether God loves you, the fact of the resurrection is proof. Everyone dies; and is slated FOR death; but not everyone dies FOR us AND defeats Death by raising themselves from Death’s claws! Hallelujah
Hallelujah
What a great ending-continuation to Jesus’ crucifixion story. Can you imagine
Satan and the crew are partying. High fives, congratulations and merriment were flowing in their HQ! They finally did it – and it was in broad daylight, so every single person could see that Jesus was dead!!!!
And
suddenly
something shifted
They sensed a difference in their atmosphere. It was Jesus
He was no longer mere flesh; but had returned to being the Fullness of the Divine and in His hands – because of being crucified – was The Key to Death and the Grave.
It registered that some tombs were empty, but worse still, some of those escapees were all around Jerusalem.
It registered that this was no ordinary check-mate! The Ultimate Savior had won! And that the wager was lost! For Satan knew God’s Love extended beyond that moment; all the way back to the Garden (where the Definitive Checkmate had been Delivered by Satan), and Forever into the Future!
Love had conquered
God’s Love (is what) became human, became Sin, Buried Sin, and made all humanity who choose to believe the righteousness of God – because of and through Jesus, Satan’s nemesis!
The party was ended for Good
Satan tries to contest the Checkmate; but it is iron-clad.
Having destroyed that hellish party, Jesus went back to earth. Not to the grave: He’d already triumphed; not to those who wished Him dead: they’d find out soon enough; But to His beloved – Mary Magdalene, the Eleven, select members among the Seventy; offering tangible proof that God’s Love triumphed and they too, could experience Life beyond Death.
