Ever wondered where you fit in God’s plan – here’s today’s Holy Nougat
“Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”” Isaiah 6:8 NLT
Today, the Lord asks again, who will go? Whom shall I send?
We know that there are so many valid reasons to say no
- People won’t take me seriously
- Eloquence is NOT my forte
- I don’t care enough (about people/God)
- Way too much scandalous behavior
- After I sin a little more (aka after I clean up my life)
But I ask us to consider, did God self reveal to me, or was there an intermediary other than Jesus? Moreover, was that in church or just a one-to-one or small group conversation? How did I respond to the message and the messenger?
For we really don’t need a pulpit to ‘go’ for God. No previous training necessary. Rather, the Lord prefers that we have a passion for God’s people and a desire to be God’s ‘evangelion ’ wherever we are. (For an evangelion is a messenger, sometimes by preaching, other times using the spiritual gifts, some human, others ‘angelic’).
And our message is simple – share from our own experience the goodness of God and invite them by our actions to embrace our experience. Of course, the challenge comes in living the invitation. But then, for much of that we are equipped by God through the Spirit of God. Jesus’ last gift to us.
As we consider the Passover and the Passion of Christ (and for me they go hand in hand); how do we answer God’s call?
