Have you ever wondered whether you are on the right track on life’s journey? Consider today’s Holy Nougat
“And you know the way to where I am going.”” John 14:4 NLT
Sometimes when I consider Jesus’ statement I am confident that I would have made a poor disciplie. Because then, I might not have figured out how it is that I would ‘know the way’ to where Christ was going. But we have the blessing of hindsight. We know how the story ended and how it SHALL end! Isn’t that amazing?!
The other irony lies in the fact that when Jesus would have comforted the disciples with those words, He was very much alive and physically present; versus our believing that promise by Faith. (Blessed indeed are those who have believed without having seen)
Now here we are. Nearly two thousand years have passed and we believe that we know the way. The way is, was, and will always be Jesus. Great! We got that part covered. And yet, it’s hard to find our way to where Jesus is. We know that the easiest way to Jesus the Way is by invitation. We invite Him in (Behold He stands at the door and knocks).
But letting go of the ‘stuff’ is not quite easy; especially when we try to do it alone. Because although we know The Way, too many of us buy into the lie that says we must first be whole to seek The Way. Nope. It’s come as you are (or He’d have chosen a different bunch as disciples!!). Just think about it for a moment – if we need directions in the natural, we don’t get all fresh and fancy to ask someone for help do we?
So here we are once again; seeking God’s help to make it back to glory. As followers of Jesus; we know The Way back – will we follow His direction?
