How well do you delegate? Some of us very well, some not so well. And yet delegation is oftentimes a well-touted virtue. Consider the following nibble on today’s Holy Nougat™
Choose some well-respected men from each tribe who are known for their wisdom and understanding, and I will appoint them as your leaders.’

Moses was inundated with attempting to manage all the issues which got downloaded to his plate and finally heeded his father-in-law’s advice. Perhaps the better question is how well do we listen?
In opting to delegate, Moses was not forfeiting his role as leader of the Hebrews. Rather, he was making his leadership more efficient. Years later Jethro’s recommendation got rebranded by a Social Scientist who attributed it to Italian economist Pareto. The premise that we spend too much time on the inconsequentials and not enough energies on what really matters is the essence of the Pareto Principle, also referred to as the 80/20 rule.
So the even bigger question is; what aspects of our spiritual lives require our direct attention, and to whom would we ‘delegate’ the remaining elements? Might I propose that we focus on establishing and maintaining a solid prayer life, personal quiet time, and time for testifying about God’s goodness, and invite God to take on the distractions and the worries?
Then, having opted to give our major issues to God, we will be attuned to hear when and how to delegate on the other issues which we think really matter. Sometimes, it’s in letting God that we are able to let go and reduce the burden of solo management.
